Accommodation
How to apply
Accommodation Information Packs are sent by Student Support to all accepted students during the summer term and include an application form, details of accommodation on offer, private accommodation lists, details of the University College’s student share list (a list of first years looking for accommodation and willing to share with other NUCA students) and information on living in the community.
All packs are sent out at the same time to avoid any students having an unfair advantage. Please note that there is not sufficient University College managed accommodation for all new students to be guaranteed a place in residence therefore we operate an allocation procedure based on distance from NUCA.
Students are advised of the date by which to return their application for our accommodation on the application form and applications are not considered until after the deadline in early July. We then allocate rooms based on priority students with a disability and students from overseas and the distance a student lives from Norwich. As demand for our accommodation fluctuates yearly it is not possible to state which areas will be considered for accommodation in advance.
Letters are then sent to all applicants advising them if they have been successful or not. Students who have been unsuccessful will be put onto a reserve list in order of distance they live from Norwich. If places become available, students on the reserve list will be offered rooms in order that they are on the list.
Unsuccessful students will be provided with a list of private accommodation if available and also be offered the opportunity to put their name on the first year student share list. The share list is then emailed to each student with a list of any new private accommodation available once a week until we are advised that a student has found accommodation and would like their name removed.
If you have any questions please email accommodation@nuca.ac.uk.
