COURSE TUTOR

This BA (Hons) Animation course enjoys a deserved reputation for the quality of its graduates and their work within the creative industries.

The integration of technical, digital and practical skills learning with the nurturing of conceptual capabilities is a course fundamental. Theory and practice, working together, lead to a deeper understanding of the discipline as a whole.

LEVEL ONE

The course commences with students creating their own drawn animation, 2D and 3D character design, storyboards and sound designs. From traditional drawing and observation skills to the latest animation software, a range of creative tools and techniques are harnessed. Students develop diverse concepts and ideas free from limitation.

LEVEL TWO

Students are immersed in the attitudes, approaches and industry practices necessary to achieve success. Alongside workshop-based projects they may tackle ‘live’ briefs from industry, enter prestigious competitions or collaborate with international students.

LEVEL THREE

Students fine-tune their creative and intellectual skills whilst making informed decisions about career pathways or the possibilities of postgraduate education. Aspects of business and professional studies are introduced alongside opportunities for work experience.

A final animated film project aims to showcase work to potential employers and other audiences through the festival circuit.

WHAT MAKES US SPECIAL
