HEAD OF SCHOOL
This exciting course has been designed to lead to a number of relevant career pathways and balances the development of creative skills, such as pattern cutting, tailoring, material sourcing and drawing, with the provision of knowledge of design, production and an understanding of the business of the fashion industry.
Students will be required to consider the ethical and sustainable aspects of their discipline and may undertake work placements in the creative industries. Teamwork and collaboration are encouraged. Upon successful completion of this Foundation Degree students may progress to BA (Hons) Fashion Level Three at NUCA.
LEVEL ONE
Level One introduces the fundamentals of fashion design and business. Students acquire new skills and devise original concepts through study and practice, which will focus on materials, processes, techniques and connections.
Individuals develop their own visual language and gain an understanding of fashion in a range of applications. They are introduced to historical and theoretical issues that relate to Fashion Design.
LEVEL TWO
By concentrating on independent projects and focusing on theoretical problem solving, students will develop their own style that will set them out from the crowd. Studies are designed to align with industrial or commercial projects.
