Bursaries

The University College will offer non-repayable bursaries to full-time undergraduate students who are entitled to the government Student Maintenance Grant. The amount students are entitled to will be dependent on how much government support they receive as set out below.

Bursary rules for 2010-11

There are 2 sets of rules depending on which of the following categories you fall into:

Category 1 - for Year 0, Year 1 and Year 2 students

If the Maintenance Grant is:

Category 2 - For Year 3 students

If the Maintenance Grant is:

PLEASE NOTE:

Students do not have to apply for the BURSARY as this will be automatically calculated based on the information provided in their application for funding to Student Finance.  If a student receives the MAINTENANCE GRANT they will automatically receive a bursary.  The bursary is paid in one instalment in the February following enrolment with the University College, if students are in attendance.

Students should note that the bursary is an annual award and they must have applied for their 2010/11 funding and the information received by NUCA by 31st July 2011.  Additionally, any amendments to existing bursary allocations must be made by 31st July of each year.

Students give their permission for their details to be shared with NUCA to allow the bursary to be awarded, when the student and their parent sign the Student Finance Declaration form.  If for any reason you or your parents do not wish these details to be shared we will be unable to award any bursary due to you.
