AimHigherDay in the life DVD BackgroundAimhigher was a national programme, funded by the government until July 2011, that helped young people to think about learning and training at a higher level, and raised awareness of the various progression routes that lead into higher education at a university, college, or through work-based learning. BriefOur brief, from Aimhigher Norfolk, was to create an inspirational ‘day in the life’ DVD that followed 4 students at different Higher Education Institutions based in Norfolk, showcasing both the range of higher education available in Norfolk and potential benefits of studying locally. SolutionThe student team working with the Course Leader, Film & Moving Image and the Business Director drafted questions, planned the film days, shot the material and edited the films to long and then short edits for client approval. The final cuts were edited and a DVD master authored with a DVD menu which we designed. ResultsThe DVD has been distributed to all state-funded High Schools and Academies in Norfolk. Client QuoteLorraine Sturman - former manager, Aimhigher Norfolk: "Aimhigher Norfolk was delighted to be able to work with actual HE students to produce a DVD for potential HE students. The final DVD met the project brief and throughout the project the NUCA students acted very professionally, taking on board advice and comments from Aimhigher Norfolk as clients. As well as providing an overview of life as an HE student in Norfolk, through the eyes of four current HE students, the DVD also showcases the type of project work that students studying Film may experience." |
