Punk legend visits NUCA
Co-founder of legendary punk rockers The Clash Mick Jones paid a visit to the Norwich University College of the Arts (NUCA) campus on Wednesday (19th May) to view ‘The Rock and Roll Public Library' - his personal archive of paraphernalia and memorabilia on display in The Gallery - as well as to personally thank the students who created the display.
Mick took in the sights at the exhibition and posed for photographs with students, staff and fans who stopped by to see the legend in person, before visiting the NUCA Student Union bar to share a drink with the congregated students.
Speaking about Norwich, Mick said: "I've heard Norwich is trying to become the City of Culture, like Liverpool and Glasgow before, and I think it's definitely a good candidate. It reminds me of a lot of the old university towns, like Oxford, with the old buildings. I like the two together; the juxtaposition of old and new, right on the same street.

The collection includes items from the days of The Clash and Big Audio Dynamite: guitars, stage clothes, musical equipment, posters, books, videos, magazines, photographs, signage and even the Gold Disc for The Clash's seminal album ‘London Calling' alongside the wellington boots customised by Kate Moss and Pete Doherty for Mick to wear at Glastonbury. Tomorrow is the final chance to view the exhibition in Norwich before it closes.
