frogpondplop: The yoga of concrete in the work of Dom Sylvester Houédard

    24 September - 16 October 2010

Curated by Nicola Simpson as part of a PHD, this exhibition explored research based on the Benedictine Monk Dom Sylvester Houédard from Prinknash Abbey, who was one of the leading practitioners and theorists of the British Concrete Poetry Movement in the 1960s and 1970s. Focusing on Houédard’s little known collaborations with Fluxus artists and the Exploding Galaxy, an international confluence of multi-media artists initiated by David Medalla, Nicola's exhibition brought together performative pieces and other works which explore artistic praxis as meditation.
